Mongo Mountains and 2 Lakes

In this journey, you'll be able to visit initially Chad´s capital city of N´Djamena. At N´Djamena you will visit the Central Market, its National Museum where you'll view its valuable collection of its culture and also visit the village of Gaoui.

Also, you'll visit Lake Chad, which is situated in the centre of the western frontier, it is 922 feet above sea level. Its network is virtually limited to Chari and Logone rivers.After it, you will spend two nights in tents and met with various tribes in Fulani, also called Peul or Fulbe.

Itinerary

Day 1

Once your international flight arrives today in Ndjamena, you will be assisted, met and transferred to your hotel.

Day 2

A full day on Ndjamena will include a visit to the Central Market, the Cathedral, and The Chad National Museum where you can view the valuable collection of the Sarh culture dating back to the 9th century and its cathedral. 

You will visit the village of Gaoui, which is also the former capital of Sao Civilization known for its traditional architecture and pottery. A visit to the Mosques of the capital is also included. You will have dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 3

We will drive you to the Lake Chad, en route visit rock elephants; this is a spectacular rock-forming elephant trunk. After your visit, you will be transferred to the village Guitte where you will enjoy a cruise to the Lake Chad. After the cruise drive, back to your hotel and overnight.

Day 4-5

A morning drive to the transhumant area of Fulani and Arabic nearby of Yao which is the meeting point of thousands of farmers and fishermen. Visit of the Lake Fitri and meeting with various tribes inhabiting this area, rich in history. Mongo area is full of cultural potentialities in Chad history. People of Mongo Mountains are called Hadjaraj, known for their jinn cult power and today fervent Muslims. You will spend two nights in tents.

Day 6

After this exhausting adventure, you will return to Ndjamena via Massaguet. It will be a day of relaxation at your hotel.

Before you are transferred to the airport for your flight back home, you will go to the craft market for gifts and car tour in city to observe the monument and the district of the city
