Ankarafantsika National Park Circuit Grande Boucle Tour

- Duration: 1 Days (approx.)
- Location: Ankarafantsika National Park
- Product code: PDMRV7
Located in the heart of western Madagascar and the Boeny region is Ankarafantsika National Park, one of the largest and last remaining dry, deciduous forests in the island country. It is the last refuge for a number of endangered and endemic species of lemur and birds, making it an essential ecotourism and conversation site.
On this tour, you will embark on one of the most popular hikes in the park, the Circuit Grande Boucle (Big Canyon Trail) trek which is a combination of Coquereli Circuit and Ankarokaroka Canyon. Immerse yourself in the beauty of nature as you trek through a lovely stretch of forest and a grassland plateau before finally reaching a viewpoint overlooking the breathtaking Ankarokaroka Canyon. This red-sandstone canyon is about 80-meter deep and experienced hikers may even descend the cliffs to the bottom of the gorge. You will also pass by another scenic landmark which is the mangrove-fringed Lake Ravelobe.
Aside from the views, you will also discover several endemic flora and fauna including lemurs and medicinal plants. You will also have plenty of opportunities to do some birdwatching and see Malagasy Paradise Flycatcher, Blue Vanga, Broad-billed Rollers, and more in their natural habitat.
