This fun and exciting wildlife adventure brings you to Kenya’s beautiful and well-known wildlife viewing sites. Begin your safari journey in the notable Samburu National Reserve, home to a number of wildlife species that are endemic to the area, including the Grevy Zebra, Somali Ostrich, Reticulated Giraffe, Gerenuk, and Beisa Oryx. Continue on to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, which is located exactly near the Equator! Here, you will have an opportunity to witness Chimpanzees and the endangered Northern White Rhinos with the two surviving rhinos hosted here. Afterwards, make your way to Lake Nakuru National Park, home to Kenya's pink lake. Though noted for its flamingo population, Lake Nakuru is also home to species like the black and white rhinoceros and the endangered Rothschild Giraffes. Your Kenya Classic Safari comes to a perfect conclusion in the Masai Mara National Reserve, where wildlife roams freely throughout the savannah.
Itinerary
Day 1 - Nairobi
Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Your local guide will meet you at the airport and take you to the hotel. Take time to freshen up and enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure.
Day 2 - Nairobi - Samburu National Park
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before driving towards Samburu National Park via the Northern Frontier District. Arrive at the Lodge in time for lunch, then spend the rest of the afternoon with fun and thrilling game viewing drives. Samburu National Park is home to a variety of endangered wildlife species such as the Grevy Zebra, Somali Ostrich, Reticulated Giraffe, Gerenuk, and Beisa Oryx (Samburu Special), so take your time exploring the reserve to spot these species, and if you are lucky, you might also get to see the legendary big cats - cheetah, leopard, and lion.
Day 3 - Samburu National Park
Take an early morning and late afternoon game watching drive through the peaceful Samburu Reserve! You will get an opportunity to encounter a variety of wildlife animals, such as Gerenuk, Oryx, and reticulated giraffe as well as the legendary famed lioness, Kamunyak known for adopting Oryx calves.
Day 4 - Samburu National Park - Ol Pejeta Conservancy
Drive through Mount Kenya and toward Nanyuki after breakfast. As you approach the Sweetwaters Camp in time for lunch, you will enter the Ol Pejeta Conservancy and go on a wildlife drive. Beyond black rhinos and chimpanzees, the reserve also protects numerous other endangered species including elephants, African wild dogs, cheetahs, lions, leopards, hippopotamuses, Grevy's zebras, and the regionally endangered Jackson's hartebeest. You will also go on a wildlife drive in the afternoon combined with a trip to the Chimpanzee Sanctuary.
Day 5 - Ol Pejeta Conservancy - Lake Nakuru National Park
Fly to the Masai Mara, an area famed for its vast plains, from Lake Naivasha. Enjoy the breathtaking vistas of Masai Mara's rich landscape despite the brief flight. You will be met at the airport and driven to your hotel, which is tucked away in the Mara River's woodland. Before embarking on an exciting game drive to look for lions, elephants, giraffes, and zebras, take a brief pause to freshen yourself.
Day 6 - Lake Nakuru National Park - Masai Mara National Reserve
Enjoy a morning game drive before departing Lake Nakuru National Park for Masai Mara National Reserve, where you will have your lunch. You will then continue your adventure with exhilarating games drives in the afternoon. Home to a great concentration of mammals, Maasai Mara Game Reserve is regarded as the ultimate wildlife reserve in Africa. Take in the most diverse remaining wildlife population in the world along with stunning scenery, endless plains, and breathtaking scenery. Dinner and overnight at Ashnil Mara Camp.
Day 7 - Masai Mara National Reserve
Spend the entire day with an exciting game drive through the Masai Mara National Reserve, and enjoy a picnic lunch along the way. One of the greatest wildlife reserves in Africa, the Masai Mara National Reserve is renowned for its exceptional populations of cheetah, leopard, lion, and the iconic African bush elephant. A rich variety of birds, including immigrants, are abundant in the area. Take time to spot birds of prey among the bird species that have been identified and documented. If you are lucky, you may witness the Great Wildebeest Migration from the Serengeti, one of the world’s greatest natural phenomena.
Day 8 - Masai Mara National Reserve - Nairobi
Take an early morning game drive before heading back to Nairobi. You will then transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward destination.
