Itinerary

Day 1 - Nairobi - Laikipia Private Conservancy

Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Your local guide will meet you at the airport, taking you to Wilson Airport for your outbound flight to Kenya’s wilderness parks and reserves. Upon arrival in Nanyuki, drive towards Laikipia Private Conservancy, one of the greatest safari destinations in Africa.

Day 2 to 3 - Laikipia Private Conservancy

Spend the next two days with exciting game drives through the Laikipia Private Conservancy.  One of the greatest wildlife reserves in Africa, Laikipia Private Conservancy is home to the second-highest concentration of wildlife in Kenya, and while many other regions are witnessing declining animal populations, Laikipia is renowned for its constantly expanding populations of wildlife, including threatened, rare, and endangered species. In addition to the Big Five, you will also be able to observe black and white rhinos, African wild dogs, grevy's zebras, reticulated giraffes, jackson's hartebeests, and other unique species grazing freely.

Day 4 - Laikipia Private Conservancy - Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Make your way towards Ol Pejeta Conservancy and go on a wildlife drive. Ol Pejeta seeks to save the many habitats that make up the southern Laikipia wilderness, including a wildlife corridor that runs along the conservancy's northern border. Aside from black rhinos and chimpanzees, the reserve also protects a wide range of other endangered species, including as elephants, African wild dogs, cheetahs, lions, leopards, hippopotamuses, Grevy's zebras, and the locally threatened Jackson's hartebeest. You will also go on a wildlife drive in the afternoon combined with a trip to the Chimpanzee Sanctuary.

Day 5 to 6 - Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Explore Ol Pejeta Conservancy on game drives to see how many species you can cross off your list over the course of two days. You can see Africa’s Big Five - lion, buffalo, elephant, leopard, and both endangered black and white rhinos - as well as the endangered jackson's hartebeests and grevy's zebras when you take an exciting game viewing drive through Ol Pejeta Conservancy. The largest black rhino refuge in East Africa can be found in the conservancy, where you can also see both the northern and southern endangered white rhinos.

Day 7 - Ol Pejeta Conservancy - Masai Mara National Reserve

Take a flight from Ol Pejeta Conservancy to Masai Mara, a region renowned for its expansive plains. Although it is a short flight, enjoy the amazing views of Masai Mara’s lush terrain. Upon arrival, you will be escorted to your accommodation, which is tucked away in the forest along the banks of the Mara River. Take a short break to freshen up before going on a thrilling game drive in search of lions, elephants, giraffes, and zebras.

Day 8 to 10 - Masai Mara National Reserve

Spend the next three days with exciting game drives through the Masai Mara National Reserve.  One of the greatest wildlife reserves in Africa, the Masai Mara National Reserve is renowned for its exceptional populations of cheetah, leopard, lion, and the iconic African bush elephant. A rich variety of birds, including immigrants, are abundant in the area. Take time to spot birds of prey among the bird species that have been identified and documented. If you are lucky, you may witness the Great Wildebeest Migration from the Serengeti, one of the world’s greatest natural phenomena. You will also visit a nearby homestead and interact with the renowned Maasai herders to listen to their fascinating stories as they travel in search of new pastures.

You may also want to schedule some time for an optional cultural interaction with the local tribespeople. To watch and learn more about the Maasai villages' way of life and culture, ask your driver/guide to arrange a visit with them. Cap off your eleven-day adventure with an optional pre-dawn hot air balloon tour over the park. Nothing compares to awakening with the sun over a large park and witnessing it come to life in the early morning hours. Your guide will be more than delighted to make the necessary preparations.

Day 11 - Masai Mara National Reserve - Nairobi

Take an early morning game drive before heading back to Nairobi. You will then transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward destination.
