Day 1 - Nairobi - Samburu National Park
Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Your local guide will meet you at the airport, taking you to Samburu National Reserve via the Northern Frontier District. Arrive at the Lodge in time for lunch, then spend the rest of the afternoon with fun and thrilling game viewing drives. Samburu National Park is home to a variety of endangered wildlife species such as the Grevy Zebra, Somali Ostrich, Reticulated Giraffe, Gerenuk, and Beisa Oryx (Samburu Special), so take your time exploring the reserve to spot these species, and if you are lucky, you might also get to see the legendary big cats - cheetah, leopard, and lion.
Day 2 - Samburu National Park
Spend the entire day exploring the beautiful Samburu National Park! As the game reserve is barely crowded and not many people visit, Samburu National Park provides a refreshment to one’s mind. Take a game viewing drive through the serene Samburu National Park, and you will have the opportunity to see Kenya’s endemic wildlife species such as the legendary Big Five, Elephant, Lion, Rhino, Leopard, Buffalo, Gerenuk, Reticulated Giraffe, Somali Ostrich, Gravy Zebra, Besia Oryx, Endangered Wild Dog, and even the Pancake Tortoise,
Day 3 - Samburu National Park - Aberdare National Park
Transfer to Aberdare National Park in the early morning. The scenic drive through the central Kenya highlands includes stops to see tea and coffee plantations. You will also have another stop in Karatina to visit and experience the largest open-air market in East Africa. A protected area, Aberdare National Park is known for its picturesque, sloping forested ravines, and open moorland. Elephants, black rhinos, leopards, spotted hyenas, olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys, buffalos, warthogs, and bushbucks are among the animals found in Aberdare National Park. If you are lucky, you may even spot the Giant Forest Hog, bongo, golden cat, serval cat, African wild cat, African civet cat, and blue duiker.
Day 4 - Aberdare National Park - Lake Nakuru National Park
Depart for Lake Nakuru National Park after breakfast. Lake Nakuru, the most famous Rift Valley attraction, is located south of Bogoria, across the equator. It is known across the world for its flamingos and is considered one of the natural wonders of the world. Although Lake Nakuru is now home to more than 40 black and 60 white rhinos, the flamingos have always been the main attraction. At times, about 2 million flamingos can be found in the area, making a strikingly beautiful deep pink band along the lakeshore. You willl arrive in time for lunch before heading off on an afternoon game drive.
Day 5 - Lake Nakuru National Park - Masai Mara National Reserve
Enjoy an early morning game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park. No park is better for an early morning game drive because of its distinctive array of birdlife. As the sun rises over the lake, you can also see the eagle and heron take flight. Then, it's time to get ready and leave for Masai Mara National Reserve. Masai Mara National Reserve, one of Africa's largest wildlife reserves, is well known for having exceptional concentrations of cheetah, leopard, lion, and the easily recognized African bush elephant. Take a game drive in the late afternoon as soon as you get there to get a glimpse of the park's breathtaking scenery and renowned acacia trees.
Day 6 - Masai Mara National Reserve
Spend the full day on a thrilling game drive across the Masai Mara National Reserve! The Masai Mara National Reserve, one of Africa's largest game reserves, is well known for having astounding populations of cheetah, leopard, lion, and the recognizable African bush elephant. There are a wide range of birds in the area, including many migrating species. Spend some time looking for raptors among the identified and recognized bird species. The Great Migration, which occurs annually from July through October, is one of the attractions of the Masai Mara National Reserve. During the season, countless herds of zebra, gazelle, and wildebeest can be observed crossing the Mara River in search of more grass.
Additionally, you might wish to block off some time for a possible cultural exchange with the local tribespeople. Ask your driver/guide to set up a visit with the Maasai villages so that you can observe and discover more about their way of life and culture. A pre-dawn hot air balloon tour over the park is an optional way to conclude your visit to Masai Mara National Reserve.. There is nothing better than waking up to the sun rising over a big park and seeing it come to life. Your guide will be more than happy to make the required arrangements.
Day 7 - Masai Mara National Reserve - Nairobi
Wake up to the sight, sound, and smell of the African wilderness in preparation for your final game drive in the Masai Mara game reserve before departing for Nairobi late in the morning. You will then transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward destination.
