Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by friendly Rothschild’s Giraffes roaming freely around the sanctuary, and even have a chance to feed them. You will then head to the Giraffe Centre, which is located on the grounds of the Manor, after lunch. Afterwards, visit the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust to meet some cute orphaned elephants. Continue on to The Karen Blixen Museum, offering an insight into the life of the author of the infamous book 'Out of Africa.' You also will have the opportunity to purchase presents from local designers and craftspeople along the way.
Day 2-3 - Nairobi - Samburu National Park
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast with the giraffes before transferring to Wilson Airport for your flight to Samburu National Park. Arrive at the Sasaab in time for lunch, then spend the rest of the afternoon with fun and thrilling game viewing drives. Samburu National Park is home to a variety of endangered wildlife species such as the Grevy Zebra, Somali Ostrich, Reticulated Giraffe, Gerenuk, and Beisa Oryx (Samburu Special), so take your time exploring the reserve to spot these species, and if you are lucky, you might also get to see the legendary big cats - cheetah, leopard, and lion. You will also have the opportunity to explore the forest, go fly camping, ride a camel through the bush, or relax at the magnificent spa.
Day 4-5 - Samburu National Park - Aberdare National Park
Depart from Samburu National Park via private charter flight to Aberdare National Park in Northern Kenya. A protected area, Aberdare National Park is known for its picturesque, sloping forested ravines, and open moorland. Elephants, black rhinos, leopards, spotted hyenas, olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys, buffalos, warthogs, and bushbucks are among the animals found in Aberdare National Park. You may even spot the Giant Forest Hog, bongo, golden cat, serval cat, African wild cat, African civet cat, and blue duiker. The prospects for wildlife viewing are limitless, and the reserve appears to represent the very best of the natural world. Plus, there are also several activities available in Aberdare National Park, such as horseback riding, trekking, trout fishing, and excellent views of Mount Kenya from the lodge.
Day 6-7 - Aberdare National Park - Masai Mara National Reserve
Transfer to Nanyuki Airstrip for a scheduled flight to Sala's Camp, your Masai Mara National Reserve lodge, where your vacation awaits, with a game drive en route. Experience the Masai Mara National Reserve, Africa's most famous safari region, from the comfort of Salas Camp, offering views of Tanzania's Serengeti safari zone. The Masai Mara National Reserve, one of Africa's largest game reserves, is well known for having astounding populations of cheetah, leopard, lion, and the recognizable African bush elephant. There are a wide range of birds in the area, including many migrating species. Spend some time looking for raptors among the identified and recognized bird species. The Great Migration, which occurs annually from July through October, is one of the attractions of the Masai Mara National Reserve. During the season, countless herds of zebra, gazelle, and wildebeest can be observed crossing the Mara River in search of more grass.
Additionally, you might wish to block off some time for a possible cultural exchange with the local tribespeople. Ask your driver/guide to set up a visit with the Maasai villages so that you can observe and discover more about their way of life and culture. A pre-dawn hot air balloon tour over the park is an optional way to conclude your visit to Masai Mara National Reserve.. There is nothing better than waking up to the sun rising over a big park and seeing it come to life. Your guide will be more than happy to make the required arrangements.
