Itinerary
Day 1 - Arusha
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport. Your local guide will pick you up at the airport, then make your way to the hotel for check in. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure.
Day 2 - Arusha - Tarangire National Park
Depart for Tarangire National Park, Tanzania's third largest national park and home to an exceptionally large elephant population. The park's majestic baobab trees are an interesting feature, dwarfing the animals that graze beneath them. Observe how the animals gather near the Tarangire River, which serves as the area's only stable water supply. There is a wide range of endemic species, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, and up to 6,000 elephants in the area. Enjoy thrilling game drives with picnic lunch before making your way to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3 - Tarangire National Park - Serengeti National Park
Following an early breakfast, drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to Serengeti National Park, stopping for game viewing along the way. The Serengeti National Park, arguably best known for its migration, is without a doubt the most well-known wildlife reserve in the world, unparalleled in terms of natural beauty and scientific importance. It also boasts Africa's highest concentration of plains game.
Every October and November, about a million wildebeest and 200,000 zebras migrate south from the northern hills to the southern plains for the short rains. During the long rains of April, May, and June, they whirl west and north. The ancestral drive to move is so powerful that no drought, gorge, or crocodile-infested river can stop them. The Serengeti National Park is indeed home to the legendary great wildebeest migration.
Day 4 - Serengeti National Park
Spend another day exploring Serengeti National Park! Home to the remarkable Great Migration, the Serengeti National Park is most renowned for its immense herds of plains animals, particularly wildebeests (gnu), gazelles, and zebras, and it is the only area in Africa where vast land-animal migrations still takes place.
Go on spectacular game drives to capture the reserve's natural wonders and fantastic wildlife. While driving through the park, keep an eye out for endemic animals such as cheetah, giraffe, leopard, lion, and zebra, as well as the iconic African bush elephant. This should be a wonderful introduction to African wildlife, with plenty of photo opportunities.
Day 5 - Serengeti National Park - Ngorongoro Crater
Drive out of the Serengeti and to Ngorongoro Crater for a game viewing drive after an early breakfast. The Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa's most famous sights, is considered to have the highest density of animals in Africa. The Crater has reached global renown status, attracting an ever-increasing number of visitors each year. You're unlikely to get away from other vehicles here, but you'll be rewarded with incredible wildlife viewing in a truly breathtaking setting. There is no other place in Africa like Ngorongoro, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site!
Take in the breathtaking scenic beauty of the Ngorongoro Crater and get a chance to sight Africa’s legendary Big Five: lions, leopards, black rhinos, elephants, and buffalos, as well as the endangered black rhinoceros. You will enjoy a picnic for lunch as you enjoy the magnificent wonders of nature. Afterwards, make your way back to the accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6 - Ngorongoro Crater - Lake Manyara National Park - Arusha
Depart for the nearby Lake Manyara National Park for an exciting game viewing drive after breakfast. Your first glimpse will be of large groups of baboons. The Lake Manyara National Park gets its name from the shrub Euphorbia tirucalli, also known as 'Emanyara' in the Maasai language. Yellow fever trees are sprinkled over the grassy lakeshores, and the Rift Valley wall is visible everywhere. The park's entry is in a very distinctive environment - beautiful green foliage, tree-climbing lions, the soda lake teeming with hundreds of pink-hued flamingos, large water birds, baboon troops, and the Rift Valley escarpment make this safari unique. A picnic lunch will be served at a picnic area. Afterwards, return to Arusha, marking the conclusion of your adventures with us.
