Dumpling Making Kit + Online Class | Cook Anytime or Live with a Chef

There's nothing like a plate of dumplings you've rolled and pleated yourself. This kit gives you everything our in-person Dumpling class uses: our dumpling flour blend, three house-made sauces and a proper dumpling rolling pin that's yours to keep.

Make the dough from scratch, roll wrappers thin, fill and fold them three ways, then pan-fry for crispy bottoms and steam for silky tops. Finish with a quick mushroom and vermicelli stir-fry, and serve it all with chilli oil and shoyu tare.

You'll need to buy: wombok, carrot, ginger, garlic, spring onion. Optional: 250 g pork mince for a meat filling (the kit makes vegetarian dumplings as standard).

Equipment: frying pan with lid or a steamer, mixing bowls, sharp knife and board, cling wrap.

How it works

Cook when it suits you. Your box arrives with everything dry and saucy you need, plus a QR code to the full recorded class. Open it the day it lands, or save it for a rainy Sunday. Pause, rewind and cook at your own pace.

Or cook with our chef, live. Every second month we run a live Sunday cook-along on Zoom at 2pm Melbourne time for Dumpling, Pasta and Ramen kit owners. Cook alongside an Otao chef and ask questions as you go. Dates and the Zoom link are in your booking confirmation.

What you add: a few fresh ingredients from your local shop. Your shopping list comes in the box and in your booking confirmation, so you can shop ahead.

Price: $159 per person, plus $20 handling and postage per order. Dispatched Tuesday and Wednesday by Australia Post. Free pickup from Otao Kitchen, 393 Victoria Street, Abbotsford, Thursday to Sunday.
